Research provides answers to some of the most pressing challenges of our time, such as climate change. At Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig, key areas of focus include quantum computing, sustainable aviation, and nanomedicine.Why aviation? The numbers speak for themselves: According to the German Aviation Association, air travel accounts for about 3.5 percent of global CO\u2082 emissions. To meet the 1.5-degree target by 2030, harmful greenhouse gases must be drastically reduced – equivalent to cutting around 263,000 long-haul flights from Munich to New York. Researchers are therefore working intensively on sustainable propulsion systems for the future of aviation. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Quantum computers are considered one of the great technological achievements of the 21st century. They promise to increase computing power many times over and could be used to simulate complex systems – from climate and weather models to the effectiveness of new medical treatments. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nanotechnology in medicine represents another frontier of research. At TU Braunschweig, scientists study nanoparticles that can carry multiple active substances at once. These could open new possibilities for more effective diagnostics and therapies.
