From August 18 to September 19, 2025, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) offers Bachelor’s and Master’s students in physics, engineering sciences, and related fields of study the opportunity to fill their summer with exciting research projects.
• Are you interested in working on current projects, such as those in quantum technologies, laser spectroscopy, sensor technology, calibration, high-frequency measurement technology, or experimental optics?
• Are you interested in how metrology supports the solution of global challenges and addresses topics such as digitalization, energy, quantum technology, environment, and climate?
• Would you like to get to know the daily work of researchers at one of the most renowned metrology institutes worldwide and gain insights into the diverse laboratories of the PTB?

The special highlight:
The research internship is compensated with EUR 680 per month, so you can fully concentrate on your research during the summer!
Students of a German university or higher education institution can apply, between the third semester of a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree program and the start of their Master’s or Diploma thesis, who have not yet completed an internship with the federal government.
