Impressions from the Salon of Science on may 13, 2022

The Salon of Science took place on May 13, 2022 at the TRAFO Hub in Braunschweig. This was hosted by the ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V. and the city of Braunschweig. The format focused on personal one-on-one conversations between visitors and scientists from the Braunschweig research institutions.

The evening began with a brief introduction to the format by Jeremias Othman, Managing Director of the Haus der Wissenschaft, and a short discussion with Dr. Thorsten Kornblum, Lord Mayor of the City of Braunschweig, Prof. Dr. Folkhard Isermeyer, Chairman of the Board of ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V., and Prof. Dr. Katja Koch, Vice President for Teacher Training and Knowledge Transfer at the Technical University of Braunschweig.

Afterwards, the actual heart of the event began: In three rounds, 20 scientists and visitors each exchanged ideas in one-on-one discussions. Other visitors were able to listen to selected conversations via headphones. Afterwards, the conversation continued over food and drinks at the food truck.
