On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM, the Thünen Institute invites you to the grand opening of the photo exhibition “Plate or Bin?” at the Wissenschaftsschaufenster, Waisenhausdamm 8, 38100 Braunschweig.
Globally, approximately one-third of all food is wasted – a large portion of it in private households. The photo exhibition illustrates what happens to our food when we dispose of it and offers practical tips on how everyone can avoid food waste in their daily lives.
Photographs by scientist Felicitas Schneider offer insights into her experiences in the fight against food waste. The exhibition is complemented by practical recipes and tips for sustainable food handling in your own kitchen. An interactive citizen science station from the University of Fine Arts invites visitors to actively engage with questions concerning nutrition, consumer behavior, and food appreciation.
